A Jazz of All Trades

They say sequels don't quite live up to the original, that the second installment will never be as good as the first. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. however, says otherwise. They've proven it with the 8th generation Civic FD (chassis model code for the 2006 and up model Civic), itself a stark improvement over the model it replaced. With the FD, it's as if Honda learned from its shortcomings and made the necessary improvements its market clamored for, a decision that put them back on the top of the sedan sales market. Much is the same in the case of the all-new 2008 Honda Jazz.
But HCPI might find that the legacy it left with the GD (2001-2007 Jazz) will be a tough standard to surpass. The outgoing GD Jazz had sales figures that any carmaker will envy, over 2 million units sold in 115 countries and six continents, and a roster of awards which reads like a shipping manifest. One of most noted awards was Japan's Car of the Year in 2001, an accolade the Jazz won when it was launched in Japan as the Honda Fit. ...
